What Marlosdoes today.
Six things the prototype does now. Nothing here is a promise for later.
-
He asks, and he answers.
Each child works through the teacher's lesson with their own Marlos. Children type their questions, and Marlos asks questions too. He can read answers aloud. No microphone, no camera.
-
Real pictures, with credits.
Pictures come from curated collections such as museums and NASA, each shown with its credit. Anything Marlos draws himself is labelled as an illustration made by Marlos.
-
Short quizzes, checked answers.
Short quizzes check understanding. The teacher confirms the key facts before the class sees them. No grades, points or rankings.
-
The teacher is in control.
The teacher writes the lesson, sees every conversation live and can pause one child or the whole class at any time.
-
It runs inside the school.
The Marlos hub is one computer in your school, and it runs the AI itself. No cloud AI service. Conversations are not sent to any AI company and are not used to train AI.
-
Honest about being an AI.
Marlos tells children that he is an AI and that the teacher can see the conversation. He never claims to be a friend, and he does not read feelings.
Not yet.
Marlos is a prototype. It holds no certification and has had no external audit. A trial runs with about 14 students at once, some screens are still in English, and a prototype can be slow.
